Materials
We recommend using a mid-weight woven fabric with a structured hand feel to maintain the shape of the hat.
If your fabric is too soft or floppy, you will need to add a stable fusible interfacing. Don’t hesitate to test different fusing options to find what works best for your chosen fabric.
If you decide to use interfacing, your hat will require a lining. Instructions for both the unlined and lined versions are included in this pattern.
- 40cm of main fabric
- 20cm of lining (lined version)
- 20cm of stable fusing (lined version)
- 1.5m of cord
- 1 spool of sewing thread
- 4 additional spools of thread if using an overlocker
- 1 spool of topstitching thread (optional)
Tools
- Sewing machine
- Iron
- Scissors
- Pins
Optional (unlined version):
- Overlocker. Alternatively, you can use the zigzag stitch on your regular sewing machine
